...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 484 square feet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A= 22^2 = 484 square feet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

area of the whole thing = big aquare - the 2 squares

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the area of the whole space is \(A=s*s=22*22=484\( however we're removing those 2 7x7 corners

OpenStudy (anonymous):

err \(A=s*s=22*22=484\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i wouldnt include the 7 ft in it? just the 15 then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it would, you just have to subtract the 7x7 square twice over

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so take 49 off of 484 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

meaning 484-49-49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there are 2 of those squares

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay. so 366

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got a different number check your calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did the math myself. let me try it again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

386 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i was about to say yeah cause i was too lazy to check on my calculator lol yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i added 49 and 49 together and subtracted 98 thats why i ended up with 366 rather than 386.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

another way of doing it is calculating the 4 separate areas of these rectangles but that's unnecessarily annoying

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh god lol i would come up with the same answer right? lol i think ill stick to the easy method.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol I actually want to check it now, let me fill in the numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let me know what you come up with lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lets see hope i did it all right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we have 1: 15x7 2: 15x8 3: 7x8 4: 7x15 105+120+56+105=386 is that what we got?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, nice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

woooop. you're the best.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know right :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for sure. couldn't study geometry without you lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the other peoples that help you out good luck with the rest of your stuffs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeah dont forget to give yourself some credit too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

very important
