Which of the following functions grows the fastest as x goes to infinity? 2^x 3^x e^x x^20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dan815

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the exponential function with the largest base

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@satellite73 so 3^x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amistre64 @dan815 @AlexandervonHumboldt2 @Data_LG2 @dtan5457 @Hero @jim_thompson5910 @sleepyjess @Kainui @perl @Godlovesme @PRAETORIAN.10 @Preetha @wio @xapproachesinfinity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@shifuyanli @Godlovesme

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

Sowwy I have no idea :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@abb0t @aaronq @acxbox22 @dtan5457 @PRAETORIAN.10 @Preetha @jagr2713 @jim_thompson5910 @Kainui @kohai @sleepyjess @TheSmartOne @wio

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

graph all the functions and zoom out and see which function grows the fastest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is it 2^x?? @acxbox22

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

i am not sure but i think it x^20 since it the steepest graph

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

bcuz by grow the fastest we mean which graph is the steepest/closest to a straight line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Michele_Laino

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

hint: the function e^x is the stronger infinity among the functions listed above

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

@familyguymath

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it'll be faster?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

yes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool! @Michele_Laino can u assist me w/ another problem?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

ok!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which of the following functions grows the slowest as x goes to infinity? x^e e^x ex They all grow at the same rate.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ik the answer isnt d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or c i believe

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

I think it is C, since it is a linear function, namely a line, and the other functions are all exponential functions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh i was thinking the fastest opps...yah then the answer could b c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks!! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could=would

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

thanks!!:)
