Describe how the term "manifest destiny" related to expansion within the United States during the 1800s.

Manifest destiny was the term used to describe what they felt was their God given right to expand. The people during the 1800's believed expansion was justifiable and inevitable(Destiny means it is bound to happen, you cannot escape it.) So this is related to the expansion because it was what made the Americans who were trying to expand feel that they were doing the right thing.
