Blues was asking me to be an ambi at the same basic time as Preetha started talking to me about being a mod.  So I actually dealt with this question.

They are different things.  The things a mod deals with are on a completely different level than ambi's... and moderation is not relly what many think it is.

However for ambis it is 13+ , besides everyone on OS should be 13. lol
