The area of a rectangle is 36 cm2. The length of the rectangle is 8 cm. What is the width of the rectangle?

OpenStudy (is3535):

i think 4.5

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

Area of a rectangle = length * width So if Area of a rectangle = 36 and length = 8 we know this: 36 = 8 * width :) Not to find the width, you divide both sides by 8 so, width = 36/8 = 4.5 You're correct ^_^ Good job!
