Solve 7x + 6 < 3(x - 2). {x | x > -3} {x | x < -3} {x | x < -2} {x | x < 0}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what the distributive property is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes multiply 3 by x and -2 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then put like terms rogether. 7x-3x what does that equal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x and -5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and that would be 4x right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you would distribute the 3 into the -2 causing the equation to be \[7x+6<3x-6\] then do 7x-3x and it would then be 4x+6 is less than -6. then - 6 on both sides to get the x alone then divide by 4. then you get your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get -5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i meant -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya hes sitting right beside me in class
