Explain how to draw a ray diagram using principle rays for a lens?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do we have a specific lens?

for both concave and convex please! :)

Draw the lens and the principle rays entering on the left hand side. Due to the nature of a lens, these rays will bend while inside the lens. For the convex lens, the rays should exit the right hand side of the lens and converge on a singular point in the middle. For a concave lens the rays disperse and do not meet. Sorry if this explanation is a little vague but it is late and I am on mobile. Try an image search for a better idea
