Use Pythagreom Theorm (idk if I spelled it right)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pythagorean Theorem, I believe...and I am not sure how to use it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A squared + B squared = C squared so do 5 squared + 8 squared and there you go. Am i right? @DefameMe

OpenStudy (rhystic):

So it's a right triangle and you can use pythagrea's theorom to solve. -> Hypotenuse = (x^2 + y^2)^.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@GhostVortex Yep!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5 squared + 8 squared = 89

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So yea! 25+64 and youll get C

OpenStudy (rhystic):

no. 25+64 = 89 which is C^2 you need to take the square root of 89 to get the actual value of C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh right you also have to square C

OpenStudy (rhystic):

yeah, you had the equation right up top you just forgot the last bit.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Shh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i need the sqrt of 89?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

comes up to about...9.43

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (rhystic):

sounds about right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks guys :)
