what school r u in?

Why does it matter? @Freez

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the first step would be to find the area altogether, which could be done by multiplying both the side and bottom to get 240 as your full area. However, a piece is missing, therefore we must find out how much of that piece is present.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since we have the original sides, this'll be a cake walk. 20 - 4 = 6, which would be one side to our piece. 12 - 10 = 2, which would be another side to said missing piece. Since 6 x 2 = 12, we can see that 240 - 12 can give a final answer of 228 inches^2.
