Do the weird little triangles along the edge count?

OpenStudy (dan815):

Okay, lets just find the area of this thing

OpenStudy (dan815):

Lets find the length of the 2 sides we need

OpenStudy (dan815):

Use pyhagorean theorem to find both the lengths of the reactangle then use L*W to find the area of the rectangle

I really just wanted to know how many of the squares count please. c:

OpenStudy (dan815):

thats what finding the area is about

OpenStudy (dan815):

area is in the units of lets say that is in cms, then area is in units cm^2, this means the area contains a total of some number of 1 cm^2 ( 1 cm side squares)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe there are 23 units
