Not sure if it's too late, but I think a pie chart might work better for this question.

You have a whole bunch of cells, and each cell can only be in 1 stage of mitosis (out of 5). You calculate the percentage of cells in each stage and display that in a pie chart. Your pie chart would provide a nice visualization that would most likely show that the vast majority of cells are in interphase, which wouldn't be as obvious from just looking at a chart.
