medal + fan as always trig help sorry, asap?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dtan5457 could you quickly help me with this one? sorry won't bother you again :]

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

You need the inverse functions when solving for a angle..you just need the regular functions when solving for a side length

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the question is a trick question? since it says "What is the difference between using the trigonometric ratios (sin, cos, tan) to solve for a missing angle......" and you just said we don't use those to solve for angles?

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

yeah, all i can think of.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can't think of anything much either. all my lesson says is: "you can find angle measures and triangle side length by using the sin, cos, tan, csc, sec, and cot ratios." but it doesn't go too into detail with explanation like why they're different or when to use them and such...
