Part 2 of 3 of OpenStudy's FAQ :)
\(\large\tt\color{red}{Question~9:What ~are~ Owlbucks,~ and~ what~ can~ you~ do~ with\\ them~and~where~ can~ I~ find~ my ~Purchase~ History?}\) OwlBucks are the virtual currency for OpenStudy. OwlBucks can be bought via credit card or PayPal. OwlBucks can be used to purchase help from a Qualified Helper. If you ask a Qualified Helper, they will help you with any of your questions swiftly and efficiently. If you don’t get help that you expected from a Qualified Helper, you can request a refund by sending a complaint to QHreports@openstudy.com. OwlBucks can also be used to buy things from the Emporium. You can view your purchase history on your profile. How to view your Purchase History: http://bit.ly/1O0Negb How to buy OwlBucks: http://bit.ly/1GW9eVt \(\tt \small answered~by~@sleepyjess~and~@EclipsedStar\) \(\large\tt\color{orange}{Question~10:Why ~do ~I ~see ~this~ random ~picture~ of ~a~ guy\\ appearing~in~different~ places?}\) The dev teams have created that as the loading template (which shows that the devs have a sense of humor), and those images are just the profile pictures of @spraguer and @ashwinram. It doesn’t affect anything else on OpenStudy. \(\tt \small answered~by~@EclipsedStar\) \(\large\tt\color{gold}{Question~11:Can~ I ~check~ my~ messages ~and ~notifications \\ on ~the ~iOS ~app?}\) At this point, it is not possible to check messages and notifications on the iOS app. You can get push notifications for messages and people responding to a post you made, but the notifications will not take you to the message or post where the notification came from. \(\tt \small answered~by~@sleepyjess\) \(\large\tt\color{#59b600}{Question~12:What ~do ~I ~do ~when ~I ~see ~a ~spam ~post?}\) The main thing for you when you see a spam post, is not to reply unless if you are stating that the Asker is posting something against the Code of Conduct. Replying to the post, and not helping to solve the situation, can get yourself warned, and possibly suspended for spamming. Here is what you should do when you see a spam post. Step 1 - Report the Thread, stating in the report that the post you are reporting is spam. Also remember that a certain of number of reports from different users will get the Asker community suspended for 24 hours. Step 2 - Reply that the Asker is going against the Code of Conduct, or don’t reply at all. Step 3 - You can private message, or tag a mod to get their attention. If there is no mods online, or a mod isn’t handling the situation, you can contact an Ambassador, because they are trained to handle these types of situations kindly. Step 4 - Leave the post so it doesn’t get more attention. Never, EVER, share the link to the spam post, because it will bring more chaos to the post. \(\tt \small answered~by~@sammixboo\) \(\large\tt\color{#2db6fa}{Question~13:How ~old ~do ~I ~have ~to ~be ~to ~use ~OpenStudy?}\) OpenStudy users must be at least 13 years or older. This is due to OpenStudy’s Terms and Conditions, as well as COPPA laws. If users that are under 13 are found, they should be reported. If not, this can cause a fine of $16,000 per user under 13 to OpenStudy. \(\tt \small answered~by~@sleepyjess\)
