The imperfect flowers are still important to a species because they yield a large stock of seed.

A perfect flower has both male and female parts while imperfect flowers have either male or female parts

OpenStudy (kainui):

It causes them to have cross breeding. If you only had perfect flowers then you end up with a lot of flowers self breeding and not making genetically diverse plants, so they are more susceptible to being a target to diseases or whatever weird tricks nature discovers and decides to exploit.
