A pet store puts 9 rainbow fish into each of 6 tanks. If the pet store buys 3 more tanks, how many rainbow fish can be divided equally among all of the tanks?

OpenStudy (automaticloveletter):

9 fish in each tank * 9 tanks = 81 fish in total? divided by 9 tanks so 9 in each I think

OpenStudy (automaticloveletter):

Apologies in advance if I'm wrong.

OpenStudy (mrnood):

I think this is meant: 9 fish in 6 tanks = 54 fish if there were 3 more tanks (9 in total ) how many fish would there be in each tank if th e54 were evenly divided

OpenStudy (automaticloveletter):

so 9 * 3 = 27 fish in those three tanks?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

no distribute all the fish between 9 tanks
