When this photograph was taken, the people in the last cart are coming down the last loop in the corkscrew feature. If these people have a kinetic energy of 72,600.0 Joules and a gravitational potential energy of 35,280.0 Joules, what is their total mechanical energy at this point?

It's 107,880 J, but yes, mechanical energy is the sum of KE and PE.
