I think so idk my teacher had me read these random things in the lesson and it makes no since to me
The recurring transition (man to monster, and back) can be treated as a Gothic theme. A similar reference is drawn out more explicitly in "The Metamorphosis" (deals with turning into a beast and what follows), from an existential point of view the same is also explored, albeit in a heavy handed manner, in "Nausea". so if anything that was dark epeating in a book would wpork openstudy.com/study#/updates/50338306e4b0d8ed9b49b90b
