Can someone help me understand this problem? -4x+3y=2

OpenStudy (dmndlife24):

what do need to understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How to solve but I don't want a direct answer

OpenStudy (dmndlife24):

Solve for what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

have to find the rate of change

OpenStudy (dmndlife24):

ok thats the same as slope and do you know what slope is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's -4

OpenStudy (dmndlife24):

well not quite...it would be best to rewrite the function in slope - int. form which is y = mx + b where m is slope if we rewrite, we have to add 4x to both sides to get 3y = 4x + 2

OpenStudy (dmndlife24):

@kmachelle do you understand so far

OpenStudy (dmndlife24):

well we have to solve for y to put it in slope-int. form and to do that our first step would be to add 4x to both sides
