for future problem like these, use the FOIL method. Front - multiply the first two numbers in the parenthesis ex: (y+2) x (y+9) ^ ^ y x y Outer - multiply the outer numbers (y+2) x (y+9) ^ ^ y x 9 Inner - multiply the inner numbers (y+2) x (y+9) ^ ^ +2 x y Last - multiply the last numbers of the parenthesis (y+2) x (y+9) ^ ^ +2 x +9 I hope this helps! its super easy if you can just remember this acronym!
