OpenStudy (moonlight93):

I need at least a formula to start with this problem. please help. 25 1g of iron pellets (spherically shaped) at 99 degree c is added to a perfectly insulated container containing 150 mls water and 50g of ice. Before the iron is added the water/ice are at perfect equilibrium. a. what is the diameter of the iron when it is at 99 degree c? density of iron= 7.870 kg/m^3 _____________ This is what I did so far; I figured out the volume using density =m/v then used volume= 4/3 pie r^3 r= 0.9119 so diameter = 0.8316 is that right, I just ignored the temperature!

OpenStudy (aaronq):

unless the density of iron is given at another temperature, it should be fine
