OpenStudy (baygurl269):

Write Vector MN as the sum of unit vectors for M(-2,3,6) and N(1,5,-2)

OpenStudy (baygurl269):

@StudyGurl14

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

hold on a sec.

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

To add vectors, just add each part. So adding M and N... <-2 + 1, 3 + 5, 6 + -2> And once you get that, take each part and write it out using i, j, and k For example, vector <1,2,3> in unit vectors is 1i + 2j + 3k

OpenStudy (baygurl269):

Yes i did that and got -1i 8j 3k but it does not match any of my answer choices

OpenStudy (baygurl269):

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

\(\large 6-2\neq 3\)

OpenStudy (baygurl269):

i have for on my paper but typed 3 my bad

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

wait, oops. sorry, do this instead... <1- -2, 5-3, -2 - 6>

OpenStudy (baygurl269):

ok i got 3, 2 , -8 , and i see that as an answer THANK YOU!!

OpenStudy (baygurl269):

So when it says sum i subtract because its vectors?

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

You're welcome. And yes. That rule I always mess up

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

sorry 'bout that

OpenStudy (baygurl269):

okay and then i am suppose to subtract them backwards N from M?

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

yeah.

OpenStudy (baygurl269):

OK thanks You :)

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

:)
