I'm stuck in the middle of the problem. A1V1=A2V2 the question: A 6cm diameter pipe is 3.5 m off the ground. The water flows of the pipe at 6m/s. A ground fire is at 11m in front of the pipe. what size reducer pipe must be added to make the water travel far enough to put out the fire? :: now this is what I did I know it's asking for the second diameter, which we can get it by solving A2 first I found time, then used velocity=delta X/ time i got v= 13.02 now I know I have to use the A1V2=A2V2 and solve for the second area to get the diameter, but I'm missing v1!
