Mathematics 23 Online
OpenStudy (shamil98):

Find a unit vector tangent to the curve parametrized by x = -2t^2 - 8t + 14, y = t^3, at t=2. I keep getting <-16,12> but it doesn't seem to be correct.

OpenStudy (dan815):

<-16,12>/(sqrt(16^2+12^2))

OpenStudy (shamil98):

It isn't asking for the magnitude though.

OpenStudy (dan815):

<-16,12>/(sqrt(16^2+12^2)) = <-16/(sqrt(16^2+12^2)),12/(sqrt(16^2+12^2))>

OpenStudy (shamil98):

O.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

My teacher failed to mention that method :(

OpenStudy (dan815):

"Find a unit vector"

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Didn't cover unit vectors either.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Kinda rushed through this chapter due to AP exams coming up.
