Describe how a virulent virus (one that lyses a cell, never becoming recombinant) adds to host-cell genetic variation through the process of natural selection my answer: If a virus can't get into a cell, it won't be lysed. If viruses can't enter a cell, then that cell can reproduce. The virus will then move on to weaker cells.
