are the lines y=2/3x -7 and y= -5 +5/9x parallel, perpendicular, or neither ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you think it is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm thinking parallel? but i'm not entirely sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no if you were to graph them out you would find that they are neither

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how could you tell without graphing them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the slope (m) of each line. If the slope is the same, they're parallel. If the slopes are negative inverses (m and -1/m), they're perpendicular. Otherwise, they're neither.

okay, thanks so much!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah no problem let me know if you need anything else
