Magnetism Question: (see photo) Why is the direction of the magnetic field in the positive x-direction? I don't see how the right-hand rule applies.

But the current of the wire that is pointing out of the page, is oriented in a counter-clockwise direction, and the current of the wire pointing into the page is in a clockwise direction. Don't those two cancel-out the effects on the point P?
