Why were idealistic supporters of the Nazi party willing to endorse Hitler’s annexation of Austria? They distrusted intellectualism and respected military power. They wanted a quick return to the former power and glory of Germany. They were intrigued by the call of danger and the opportunity to sacrifice. They believed that the problems of Germany were caused by the communists.
