Identify the factors of x^2 - 4x - 21

PLEASE take me step by step so I can find the factors of other ones DX pleaaaase

you will come up with \(-7\) and \(3\) since \(-7\times 3=-21\) and \(-7+3=-4\)
then you factor as
\[(x-7)(x+3)\]
