RebuPal: -‐ We have kids to things all the 'me for their own good. Support: In an ar'cle 'tled, “Is Forced Volunteering Helping Anyone?” a researcher stated that the hope is that by having teens give back, they will be encouraged to be good ci'zens and volunteer as adults.
alright. For the introduction. What I usually do: 1st sentence would be something general about volunteering. 2nd sentence would be the idea opposing your point, explain why they think that volunteering is not good for students. Then after you done that, next is 3rd sentence or the 'However' sentence in which you state your argument. 4th sentence will be your thesis. This is where you put each supporting reason for your argument but in a shorter form.
@Data_LG2 im confused??? can you help me write it
I would say put a hooker in the first sentence about volunteering and add a interesting detail or two about it.
Yes, that is the first thing you have to do. General idea about volunteering. For example, answer the questions: What is volunteering? or add some statistics that answers the question, how many youths are volunteering these days.
ok @Data_LG2
Just tag me again when you're done with this part.
ok
Volunteering is about giving your time to a good cause. You don't get paid, but you do get the chance to use your talents, develop new skills, and experience the pleasure that comes from making a real difference to other people's lives, as well as your own. @Data_LG2
@Data_LG2
Yes that's great. But I think since this is just an introduction you can use third person instead of 2nd person pov. So let's rephrase that a bit: Volunteering is about giving time to a good cause. Volunteers don't get paid, but they do get the chance to use their talents, develop new skills, and experience the pleasure that comes from making a real difference to other people's lives. Now, move on to the next thing. State the counter argument.
i cant find any statisitcs on youth volunteering can you help me
@Data_LG2
No, that is just optional so you don't have to do that :)
but i want too
do i need too?
Not really. But if you want, here is a good reference if you are in US: http://www.bls.gov/news.release/volun.nr0.htm But as I've said before, it is not necessary (:
