If a population consisted of 75,000 people, surveying 750 people from the population could result in a point estimate but not a parameter. True or False?
i dont like the wordage but: can a sample statisitic have the same value as the population statisitic?
I don't think so isn't the term 'parameter' is used for a parent population, and is not used for any function of sample data.
a sample can have the same statistical parameters as the population its pulled from, in fact that the ideal sample. We want a sample to have the same diversity and characteristics of the population. But i may be reading the question wrong so i cant be sure if my approach is correct for this problem.
i might be over thinking it, since i could go either way with it. i loathe word problems ....
oh ok thank you the wording of the question is a little confusing for me.
