Yes, but let me give an explanation to justify @xFrozenRiverx 's giving direct answerness. Say you were going to watch Sleeping Beauty or something. The participle is "sleeping" not only because it ends with ing or ed, but also because it describes what Beauty is doing. What the Doodle is Beauty doing? Sleeping, of course!
