x/2 + 8 = 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it \[\frac{x}{2}+8=6\]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

make them have a common denominator and then set x and the new numerator equal to 6

OpenStudy (misty1212):

if it is what i wrote, you solve in two steps a) subtract \(8\) from both sides then b) multiply both sides by 2

OpenStudy (misty1212):

it is \[\frac{x}{2}+8=6\] right? not \[\frac{x+8}{2}=6\] which is different

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its the top one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got it thanks
