Please help!!! Four expressions are shown below: 4(8x + 2) 4(7x + 3) 32x + 8 28x + 12 Which two expressions are equivalent to 4(7x + 2 + x)? A and B B and C A and D A and C
Do you know where to start? @PoppyGirl63
Ok you start by solving 4(7x + 2 + x)? ok?
So you multiply whats on the outside of the parenthises with whats on the inside. Do you know how to do that?? @PoppyGirl63
You would end up getting 28x + 8 + 4x (if you are not going to answer me though i cant hep...)
Sorry!!! I had to leave for a bit but I had it in the background! That's why it said that I was here. Thanks, anyways :D @Hannah_Waller
haha your fine :) so did you read what i have said so far??
Yeah, I got it. But, where does the 4 come from?
In the end of the final expression
At the end of the parenthises it says +x and you multiply it by 4 so its 4x
So what do you do next?
Combine like terms (x's) OK? @PoppyGirl63
(sorry again!) And, okay. Thanks!
So... would it be C? (A and D)
We have to sole the problem first... So combine like terms. So what is 28 + 4?
32
ok good but dont forget its 32X. So your equation would then be 32X + 8
So one of your answers is C. Because its 32X + 8
And which other one do you think it would be??
A... right?
@Hannah_Walker
haha is waller and yup
