Why is grasshopper blood green? Check all that apply. A Grasshopper blood has no hemoglobin. B The circulatory system transports nutrients and wastes, but no carbon dioxide or oxygen. C Grasshoppers have a circulating chlorophyll pigment. D because of their open circulatory system

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

The blood they have is blueish-green. Haemolymph or hemolymph is a fluid found in its circulatory system that is comparable to blood in certain respects, such as water. It's blood is blueish-green because it's blood contains hemocyanin, a copper-based protein that turns blue when oxygenated. It does NOT contain hemoglobin which is iron-based, which is in red bloods cells. When not oxygenated, hemolymph (haemolymph) quickly loses its color and has a grey appearance.
