Geometry help!

OpenStudy (matlee):

@FibonacciChick666

OpenStudy (matlee):

Needs help with page 41 number 1

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

@nincompoop and @dan815 I'm heading to bed, but can you help with this geometry test packet? There are a few proofs and justifications, but most are just straight computations.

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

and maybe @zepdrix , though it is not the calculus you are used to.

OpenStudy (matlee):

lol

OpenStudy (matlee):

yayyy

OpenStudy (matlee):

Hello zepdrix

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Uhhhh hi 0_o

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

can you zeppy?

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

I have to be rested for my parents visiting O.O

zepdrix (zepdrix):

I dunno XD I can try haha

zepdrix (zepdrix):

What's going on now? number 41?

OpenStudy (matlee):

Yesss

zepdrix (zepdrix):

page 41, number 1*

OpenStudy (matlee):

Thank you !! yes number 41 number 1

OpenStudy (matlee):

I have to use distance formula?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hmm what type of area formulas have you used. obviously we know base times height and those nice simple ones. But who knows what this triangle will look like 0_o Have you learned heron's formula? Oh oh oh nevermind, all of the options either go straight up or straight down from the other point, so we will definitely have a right triangle :)

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Yes distance, but only for the straight edges, we need `base` and `heigth` to get our area, ya? :) hypotenuse won't matter

OpenStudy (matlee):

thank goodness i had no idea

OpenStudy (matlee):

ok i used the distance formula for the coordinates and got \[\sqrt{10}\]

zepdrix (zepdrix):

For the length between the two `given` points?

OpenStudy (matlee):

yes

OpenStudy (matlee):

oh wait i did it wrong

OpenStudy (matlee):

the length is 4

zepdrix (zepdrix):

|dw:1429854206889:dw|4? Ok that sounds better :)
