Nothing!

OpenStudy (matt101):

All these questions are based on images. Without seeing the images, I don't know what the answers are...

OpenStudy (matt101):

Thoughts?

OpenStudy (matt101):

3 is probably right, although the picture isn't amazing so I can't be sure it isn't a pathogen. 4 is incorrect. Which way does CO2 move in the lungs? 14 is correct! 17 is incorrect. Think about what the graph is showing you! 18 is incorrect. Look carefully at the graph!

OpenStudy (matt101):

Correct and correct!

OpenStudy (matt101):

Well does your body want to take in CO2 or get rid of it?

OpenStudy (matt101):

It isn't C, but you're right - the body wants to get rid of it. It gets out of the body when you exhale. That means it has to be in the alveolus for that to happen. Where does the alveolus get the CO2 from?

OpenStudy (matt101):

Exactly right!

OpenStudy (matt101):

The blood offloads CO2 it picked up from tissues throughout the body, which diffuses into the alveolus along its pressure gradient. Then the CO2 is exhaled.
