WILL FAN AND MEDAL PLEASE HELP!!!!! Why do individuals in a population have different observable traits? PLEASE EXPLAIN
@dan815 @bohotness
Is that the only part of the question?
Yes
Okay. I'm going to tell you what I know about traits and see if this helps. Oftentimes unless an individual reproduces by splitting it's cells to make identical ones a species is going to inherit different traits from its parents. Let's say humans, for instance. A child may have a dad with brown hair and a mom with blonde hair and be born with dirty-blonde hair, thus being a different trait. Is that what needed to be answered or do you need to know something else?
That helps a little but I will word my question differently. Why does everyone have different traits apart from everyone else?
Within a species that undergoes sexual reproduction there is always genetic diversity, this basically means that no two organisms are the same. Each difference in their genes will give them a minor difference in trait from each other. As saonline16 said, the child inherits its genes from its parents, but it will actually have its own genes that its parents did not have.
Thank you @YoungElk
@YoungElk Thanks for explaining that better. I wasn't positive what I needed to be explaining. :P
Thank you @saonline16
