What in the world is up with everyone's fascination with \(\LaTeX\)?

Not everything needs to be shiny and colourful to the point that it loses its meaning. It's like us kids using glitter on just about any assignment just to make it look good. But glitter pens never, ever look good.

Sometimes, you've just got to accept that you have to keep within your limits when it comes to things like these. Please use LaTeX only where it is useful (read mathematics). There is a huge difference between formatting and good formatting. Good formatting does your job perfectly.

If text can do your job, then it's just fine. If you have lots of stuff to type out, then you probably need to format your text. But the formatting should only include bold/italics and bullets where they're needed. Nothing flashy.

LaTeX also slows down the website for both you and me. No, you do not absolutely need to use LaTeX when you're welcoming someone to OpenStudy, or wishing a happy birthday. That is not its job.

lol. And Parth, I doubt anyone really uses LaTeX to communicate to others and write paragraphs with it, except that one time I made my whole tutorial in LaTeX. xD

If you look at the AmbiManual, it saus to use it sparingly in greetings, etc. There is a reason for this.
