Why the answer of 3rd question in Worknig example in Session 5: Area and Determinants in 2D is 2 ? det(...) = 1X2 - (-2)*3 = 8 Area of triangle = 1/2 * 8 = 4

Yes, you are correct. the det is 8 (as we know from problem #2), and 1/2 of 8 is 4 Attribute it to a sloppy mistake... I find these annoying, but hey, what do expect for free?
