Please help I have no idea how to do this! 1)Solve 5x2 = -30x - 65. 2) Solve -2x2 +3x - 9 = 0. 3)Solve x2 + 4x + 8 = 0. 4)Solve -2x2 - 16x - 44 = 0. 5)Solve x2 - 7x = -13.

Do you mean x^2 instead of x2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep she does

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes sorry

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

in the 1st question, divide every term by 5 and rewrite it as \[x^2 + 6x + 13 = 0\] now use the general quadratic formula to solve it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be x= -3 +/- 4i?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry 2i?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@campbell_st

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

no I think the 2nd choice is correct \[x = -3 \pm 2i\]
