I need your help with my Homework

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wacha need help with?

OpenStudy (cloudx):

hold on im typing it right now

OpenStudy (cloudx):

It is on transformations

OpenStudy (cloudx):

of functions

OpenStudy (cloudx):

Given af(bx+c)+d: a)Describe what each letter a, b, c, and d does as a transformation of f(x) and explain why it has that effect b)Describe the order to do tranformation must be doe ans why that order is acceptable. c)Is it okay to do the following order: b, then a, then c, then d? If not, is there a way to rewrite the equation so that the order given is acceptable?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

hint: if I have a trasformation like this: \[x' = kx + h\] we say that: k is the scaling factor, namely the mapping x'--->kx is a dilation, and: h is the additive constant, namely, the trasformation: x'---> x+d is a traslation

OpenStudy (cloudx):

I understand vertical shifts, horizontal shifts, and reflections but Im kinda confused on dilations. How do you prove that a dilation happened
