What is cross section, using plants as an example! I will give medal and fan!

It is the transverse cut through a tissue, cell or any structure for that matter. An example in a plant would be the cross section of the stem, if you were to cut horizontally across a stem and then look at the cut portion from the top, you would be viewing the cross section of the stem (which should contain both a xylem and a phloem)
