Where does cellular respiration occur? In the cytoplasm In the mitochondrion <-- In the cell membrane In the chlorophyll

OpenStudy (shiraz14):

Cellular respiration (which may be further classified into aerobic & anaerobic respiration) is a multi-stage process. The first stage of aerobic respiration & anaerobic respiration occurs in the cytosol, hence the closest answer here would be the cytoplasm. While the next 3 stages of aerobic respiration occur in the mitochondria.

@shadeyghost ?

OpenStudy (shiraz14):

The correct answer would however be the mitochondria, since the cytoplasm includes the organelles in the cytosol as well (except the nucleus).

OpenStudy (shadeyghost):

again, you are correct adri

This is a bad question, technically there are two correct answers as @shiraz14 masterfully explained. Nevertheless, the most specific answer you can choose is mitochondria
