fan and medal Which personal pronoun correctly completes the sentence? What is its use? Even though the Millers knew it would erupt, Old Faithful's geyser surprised ___________ every time. A. they; indirect object B. them; direct object C. they; direct object D. them; indirect object Iknow it is one of the thems

OpenStudy (girlover):

what do you think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is one of the thems but i dont know what one :(

OpenStudy (girlover):

they and them...they s an obective pronoun which means it will be located at the beginning of the sentence so that means that they will be canceled out as a option

OpenStudy (girlover):

now we have the option of if it is either indirect or direct object... the direct object has to have an indirect option and the direct object ask "who or what"... so who or what was surprised? "they were surprised"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so c

OpenStudy (girlover):

i am looking over it again and in order to find if it is they or them you need to shorten the sentence and say "geyser surprised them or geyser surprised they" which one sounds better, and you are correct with the direct object

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so b :)

OpenStudy (girlover):

yesss :)

thanks
