The US has been negotiating a treaty with Iran just recently. Iran is about ready to build nuclear bombs. We haven't had an official relationship with the since they took the hostages. We don't exchange ambassadors. Iran supports several terrorist organizations in the middle east. Does any of that sound like it may be a consequence of the hostage taking?
