**WILL ALWAYS FAN+MEDAL** How is Heron's formula compared to other triangle area formulas different? And what are the advantages/disadvantages for each formula?
Herons formula is used by first finding the subperimeter which is found by simply dividing the perimeter in half. (s=a+b+c*1/2). the area us used by finding the square root of s*(s-a)(s-b)(s-c) where s is the subperimeter and a,b,c are the sides of the triangle. (\[A =\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}\]
Thanks Ty, but how is it different from other formula's? And what are the Advantages, and disadvantages? That's is the part that is most confusing :P
Are there any specific "other formulas" they'd like you to discuss?
No it just said formula's :p
Well.. Like mentioned by @tylermcmullen23 , this formula states that s will be multiplied by all sides of a SSS triangle. However, in order to find s, you will need to solve for it. \[s=\frac{ (a + b+ c) }{ 2 }\]
I guess it could be said that s is two formulas in one unlike most.
yes. and unlike others, you have to find the subperimeter in genral in order to solve for the area. and the correct exact area relies on the subperimeter.. which sometimes cannot be the best way to be accurate
Thank you both if I could give you both a medal I would :D So thank you @tylermcmullen23 and @_Squish
anytime @HackberryAbby18 i gave him a medal
Thanks Ty I appreciate it :D
anytime Abby
You too @_Squish
