a) Describe the overlap of the two sets of data.

b) Find the IQR of each set.

c) Find the difference between the medians of the sets.

d) What number multiplied by the IQR equals the difference between the medians of the two sets?

B. IQR of 7th grade = Q3 - Q1 = 22 - 14 = 8
IQR of 8th grade = 34 - 26 = 8

C. Median in 7th grade = 18
Median in 8th grade = 30
difference = 30 - 18 = 12

D. 8x = 12
x = 12/8
x = 3/2 or 1 1/2
if you multiply the IQR by 3/2 or 1 1/2, you will arrive at 12, the difference between the medians
