A pair of equations is shown below: y = 7x – 9 y = 3x – 1 Part A: In your own words, explain how you can solve the pair of equations graphically. Write the slope and y-intercept for each equation that you will plot on the graph to solve the equations. (6 points) Part B: What is the solution to the pair of equations? (4 points)

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

So have u tried solving it? :P

OpenStudy (welshfella):

the equations are in slope intercept form already y = mx + b where m = slope and b = y-intercept so for the first one slope = 7 and y intercept = -9

OpenStudy (welshfella):

so you can plot the point (0,-9) for the first equation and from the slope value (7) count squares on your graph paper ( right one unit and 7 units upwards) from the point (0,-9) to find a second point and so draw the line.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

perform the same operation on the second equation and draw the line . Where the 2 lines intersect is the solution to the system of equations (x,y)
