What is the lateral area of the prism? http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1576000_1576500/1576121/1/040632ff13062c14e8153009e449ef847b666cce/MS_IMB-1400114-1121002.jpg

@wolfe8

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

I forgot what lateral area means but Google should help. I believe you imagine cutting down one side and opening the box flat. In other words, just the area of the sides and not including the top and bottom.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait so just the area of one side

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

All the sides. Front, back, left, right. Just not top and bottom. Does that make it a bit clear?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show an example?

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Sure. Here's an attempt in my laptop|dw:1430165298024:dw| It's just like cutting out a box
