"He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them. He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only."
These lines from the Declaration of Independence are an example of the use of _______________. (5 points) pathos theme logos thesis
I'm stuck on the question can someone please help
I'm not absolutely certain. The tone seems to be a little on the dramatic side, using words like " formidable" ,"tyrants", and "utterly".. Pathos: quality that evokes pity or sadness Logos: convince or persuading the targeted audience by employing reason or logic. Can you make a guess from this?
I'm guessing its logos?
It seems that the only logical answer
Again, I'm not totally sure. I think maybe Pathos, because it's making a point of saying how terrible this thing being discussed is.
But I might not be right
That's true too. This is why I'm confused.
*sigh* They can never make it easy. You have to just go with your gut and hope it's right sometimes.
I feel like it would be logos. But can it be theme or thesis?
It was logos. We got it right.
